Community Involvement

When it comes to serving and supporting the health and heritage of Colorado Springs, Kevin Kaveney is deeply committed, actively engaged and personally involved. A lover of Western history and culture, with a heartfelt commitment to military families and to the city's underserved populations, Kevin is one of those people who not only gets things done – he gets them done well. 

 

Community Groups

Kevin is a longtime Board Member of YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, and is an active volunteer in the El Paso County Soil Conservation Society (“Soil Savers”).  He is a past President of the Winter Night Club, one of the oldest and most respected dinner societies of the Rocky Mountain region. 

He's also serves as co-chair for the annual Colorado Springs Western Breakfast Committee, a local tradition since 1936. As the kick-off event for the annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo season, the breakfast is sponsored by the City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Range Riders, of which he is a member. The Pikes Peak Range Riders support the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, the Pikes Peak Range Rider Foundation and carry on Colorado Springs' western heritage.

Kevin has also been an official sponsor and supporter of the annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Days, as well as sponsoring the Girl of the West.

Military Organizations

Kevin is Board Vice President of Citizen Soldier Connection, a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit dedicated to providing friendship and support to soldiers and military families stationed at Fort Carson.  The 2016 golf fundraiser sponsored by Northwestern Mutual – Colorado Springs raised more than $63,000 for the Citizen Soldier Connection organization.  He is an involved member of the West Point Society of the Pikes Peak Region, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

 

Business Associations

Kevin is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Southern Colorado Economic Forum and the Financial Research Association. He is a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and the highly selective Colorado Thirty Group. He's also actively involved with the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce.   

 

Awards

In honor of his exceptional volunteer commitment to the greater good of the local Colorado Springs community, in 2013 Kevin received the Community Service Award from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
